The changing of the leaves in Northern Arizona is beautiful and not to be missed. During mid October and through November we have a window to view the leaves as they change to beautiful shades of red, orange, and yellow. You may choose your desired location from the trips we currently offer during the booking process.
During your booking process you may choose from the following locations to view the changing of the leaves.

Tour Option 1: Aztec Peak (Sierra Ancha Wilderness)
Aztec Peak is a fire lookout at an elevation of 7,694 ft above the sea level. It’s the highest point of the Sierra Ancha Wilderness region. This off-road trail twist and turns up through beautiful forests and canyons with stunning changing of the leaves as we climb in elevation. The trail will takes us to the top of the Workman Creek Falls. At the summit there is a watchtower and large stone seats and tables. The summit offers us 360 views from the vista point atop of Aztec Peak. There are many side trails and hikes to explore within the Sierra Ancha Wilderness region. During this trip we will stop to visit Roosevelt Lake, Bridge and Dam. We will also stop in the Salome Wilderness on the far side of Rossevelt Lake high atop a beautiful red rock canyon to view the lake and Four Peaks mountain from a distance before heading up Aztec Peak.
Tour Option 2: See Canyon and Exploring the Mogollon Rim
During this fall tour we will stop at a number of locations below and on top of the beautiful Mogollon Rim to hike and view the changing of the leaves.
See Canyon (Payson Tonto National Forest)
We will travel into See Canyon is nestled within the east side of Promontory Butte below the Mogollon Rim. We will hike into the canyon where beautiful Maple, Aspen, and Oak trees grow along the creek which is lined with mint, ferns, and grasses. This is a magical place to view the wonderful colors of the leaves during their changing process.
Mogollon Rim (Coconino National Forest)
We will then travel up top of the Mogollon Rim at an elevation of 8,000 feet. We will take a scenic drive to explore a number of side trails off of the famous 300 Rim Rd which offers us stunning cliff views. We will drive to explore trails such as FR 139 (Dick Hart Ridge), the Cabin Loop Trail down into Barbershop Canyon, FR 321 (Dane Ridge), FR 137 (Buck Springs Ridge), and FR 147 (Quaking Aspen Canyon with a short hike to Potato Lake).

Winter Conditions Seasonal Trail Closures
Please be aware that a number of these locations have seasonal winter conditions trail closures once snow and ice make travel too dangerous.

Aztec Peak Day TripTravel up Aztec Peak to view the fall colors making stops at various scenic locations: Roosevelt Lake, Bridge and Dam, a vista point on top of a red rock canyon to view the lake and Four Peaks mountain from a distance, and Workman Creek Falls on our way to the summit of Aztec Peak with many opportunities to get out and view the leaves.

See Canyon and Mogollon Rim Day TripWe will first travel into See Canyon to hike around and view the fall leaves. We will then travel up top of the Mogollon Rim at an elevation of 8,000 feet. We will take a scenic drive to explore a number of side trails off of the famous 300 Rim Rd which offers us stunning cliff views and many opportunities to view the changing of the leaves.
Pack for a PicnicDuring your fall Jeep tour we will stop in a scenic location along the trail for a break to each lunch together in a secluded spot. Please remember to pack food, drinks, and snacks for your trip. Chairs and a table will be provided.
Drive HomeDrive on-road to return back to Fountain Hills or your hotel. The length of the drive back home will depend with tour option you picked during your booking process. This is a full day trip and generally we return home after sunset between 7pm to 8pm.
