The East Verde River flows down from the Mogollon Rim through Washington Park and continues all the way to the Mazatzal Wilderness. During this Jeep tour we will drive through a beautiful portion of the Superstition Mountains known as Mountain Mountain. We will explore Arizona’s oldest and largest botanical garden. We will visit a mine and hunt for Apache Tears, said to heal grief and give protection.

The sunsets up on the rim are breathtaking! We will also explore one of the more remote rim lakes. At this elevation you will enjoy temperatures 20 to 30 degrees cooler than the Phoenix area.
Aztec Peak is a fire lookout at an elevation of 7,694 ft above the sea level, located in the Tonto National Forest, in central Arizona. It’s the highest point of the Sierra Ancha Wilderness region. This off-road trail twist and turns up through beautiful forests and canyons. It takes you to the top of the Workman Creek Falls. At the summit there is a watchtower you can climb up (seasonal) giving you stunning views from the vista point atop of Aztec Peak. There are many side trails and hikes to explore within the Sierra Ancha Wilderness region.
The Horseshoe Dam is just 25 miles outside the beautiful town of Cave Creek. The dam is 1,500 feet long, 144 feet high. This dam is unique because there is a walking path which allows you to get behind the water flowing over the dam. You can get very close to the water below the dam which cascades down into a beautiful multi-tiered waterfall flowing over large rocks. The views are stunningly beautiful when there is a release of water happening. Just below Horseshoe Dam is some of Arizona’s best fishing.
Exploring around the historic Sheep Bridge area offers lots of fun adventures. On the north side of the river there is hidden within dense reeds a hot springs to soak in. There are many opportunities for hiking along this beautiful stretch of the Verde River and swimming in the summer months.
